Reserving Production Spaces

Anyone who would like to reserve a production facility must attend an orientation and sign the JHU-MICA Film Centre User Agreement. Please read Reserving our Equipment for more information.

Film Centre Production spaces may be reserved by students enrolled in Film Centre courses who require a space to complete class assignments. See below for specific room regulations . If you are reserving production facilities for an extended period of time, you will need to fill out a production form which can be found in the reservation system.

The Film Centre production facilities (other than the copy stand room) are accessed via keys and therefore are only accessible between the hours of 9AM-6PM M-F, 11AM-4PM Saturday (hours may differ over breaks and holidays) in 4 hour increments that can only be renewed once. Typical reservations will be approved at pickup.

After the hours of 6PM you'll have to seek special permission for overnight access. This privilege is reserved for majors who have proven proficiency of the space. In order to request overnight access you must fill out a production form found in the reservation system. Overnight slots are: 6PM-9AM M-F, 6PM-11AM F-Sat, and 4PM-9AM Sat-M (hours may differ over breaks and holidays). Once you have proven proficiency you will be granted privileges to make overnight reservations on your own.

Unless you are a major, minor or concentrator in any of the four Film Centre academic programs you will only have access to our production spaces while you are enrolled in a Film Centre production class that requires it. The four programs are: JHU MA in Film and Media, JHU BA in Film and Media Studies, MICA MFA in Filmmaking, and MICA BFA in Film and Video
